Saudi Arabia rPET Flakes Reach the UK After Spain

The Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC) has successfully completed its first export of hot-washed recycled PET flakes through its joint venture, MASAB, to one of the largest manufacturers of recycled PET bottles in the United Kingdom. This follows earlier exports this year to manufacturers in Spain.
SIRC, a company fully owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), announced in a press statement that this milestone marks a significant step for its subsidiary, Yadoum, in entering the UK market, which presents tremendous potential for importing recyclable materials. This is not the first achievement of its kind, as SIRC had previously begun exporting PET flakes to Spain earlier this year, reaching over 1,650 tonnes in exports.
The company highlighted that it is not only expanding its export capabilities but also strengthening its partnerships with major European companies. This collaboration is expected to drive further integration in the PET recycling sector and other related fields.
SIRC's Group CEO, Eng. Ziyad bin Mohammed Al-Shiha, expressed his pride in contributing to the Kingdom’s sustainability goals through this effort, which helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, divert waste from landfills, and supports the Saudi Green Initiative. He emphasized that SIRC plays a pivotal role in empowering local industries and fostering a more sustainable future.
